Episodes 1 & 2: Salvation By Grace, Part 1 & 2
The doctrine of salvation by grace alone is possibly the most necessary of concepts for Christians—and all the world—to understand. Yet few can say they really comprehend its significance. Fewer still realize how this doctrine functions next to the admonition that faith without works is dead. How are we to understand the relationship? In 2 Sides of the Same Coin, Mark Kielar explains both individual concepts, and how they fit together as two sides of the same coin.
Salvation by Grace explores one of the most important doctrines in Christianity (the doctrine which gives this section its title), a doctrine that must be received and embraced before any others can be fully benefited from. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8–9). When it comes to our personal salvation, these are some of the most powerful words ever written. Unfortunately, they’re also some of the most underappreciated words ever written. If you ask the vast majority of people (as this series’ creators have done), they will tell you that there’s something they can do to gain entrance into heaven. Sadly, some of the world’s most popular religions base salvation on something the individual person must do. The Bible says otherwise.
