Sign in to rateJesus was surrounded by people who were steeped in religion and talk about the Lord. Many of them belived somberness, not joy was the sign of your relationship with God. In fact, they sought to stamp out any embers of joy. Jesus wrecked their world-view and beliefs by declaring that joy is a natural response of those who are with Him.
